2026 Conference Overview
The 17th annual Hawaii STEM Conference brings together students, teachers, and industry professionals for a 2-day immersive STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and math) experience. Hosted by STEMworks™, an education to workforce program by Maui Economic Development Board, this event features keynote speakers, hands-on professional development sessions, networking, on-site competitions, an exhibitor playground, and the much-anticipated STEMMY awards!
Like paddlers in a waʻa (canoe) navigating uncertain waters, this year’s conference theme, “Navigating Change,” encourages students to look inward to discover their unique strengths and passions to contribute meaningfully to their community. In times of change, each of our talents become essential pieces for a larger collective journey, requiring both self-reflection and collaborative action. When we understand our own role and work in unison with others, we can steer toward a brighter future for Hawaiʻi.
Through hands-on sessions led by passionate STEM professionals in healthcare, engineering, agriculture, computer science, entrepreneurship, creative media, and much more, students will leave one step closer to identifying their strengths and passions for a successful career in Hawaiʻi and with tools to positively impact their local communities.
